he staff at Woods, Water
and Wildlife has over twenty years of combined experience in timber management, procurement,
harvesting and sales. We know the wood business and what it takes to market
timber to maximize the landowner’s profit. Our timber sales annually exceed $2 million in market value, but quantity can't stand alone. We put
a great deal of emphasis on pre-harvest planning, environmental and water
quality control, and reforestation. We understand what it takes to not only sell your timber, but
to ensure a proper harvest and future stand.
Typically, a turn-key timber sale would include:
Location and marking of timber harvest boundaries
Location and marking of streamside management zones to protect water quality
Establishing the market value of the timber to be sold
Conducting the timber sale through a bid process or by negotiation
Closing the sale with either a timber deed or sales contract
Monitoring of the timber harvest and compliance with Forestry Best Management Practices (BMPs)
Coordinating any site preparation and tree planting once the harvest is complete
Working with state forestry agencies on behalf of the landowner to obtain cost-sharing funds
